Da Nang Weather Observatory Issues Tropical Depression & Storm Advisory for Central Coast

October 5, 2026 at 04:20 PM 2 min read· Source: NCHMF Vietnam & Da Nang Emergency Management
Tropical cyclonic activity traditionally intensifies during October and November in the East Sea. Da Nang civil safety and rescue teams are on high alert.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) issued advisories regarding low-pressure formations east of the Philippines tracking toward the central coastline (Quang Nam — Da Nang — Thua Thien Hue).

Essential Safety Steps for Residents in Da Nang & Hoi An: 1. **Sea Swimming:** Red flags are raised at My Khe, Tho Quang, and An Bang beaches. Swells reach 2.5–3.5 meters with dangerous rip currents. Obey lifeguard orders and stay out of the surf. 2. **Motorbike Parking:** Avoid leaving scooters parked beneath broad-canopy rain trees on Le Duan, Nguyen Van Linh, and Bach Dang boulevards. 3. **Household Preparedness:** Maintain a 3-day drinking water reserve, ensure power banks are fully charged, and inspect window gaskets for water seepage during horizontal gale-driven rains.
