Sightseeing has been temporarily suspended on the Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang until further notice due to forecasts of prolonged heavy rains and risks of landslides and flash floods.
Детали события The peninsula management has not yet determined the reopening date.
There was heavy to very heavy rain in Da Nang from the evening of Oct. 7 through the night of Oct. 8, before gradually easing on Oct. 9.
Many roads in the southern part of the city were severely flooded, with water nearly half a meter deep.
The peninsula management said the area frequently experiences squalls and strong winds.
The roads around the peninsula have steep slopes and sharp curves, making them too slick for safety during rains.
Fog reduces visibility for drivers.
The management also warned of risks involving fallen trees, rockfalls from mountain cliffs, and swift-flowing water across the road.
If there is heavy rain, lightning, or strong winds, visitors currently on the peninsula should seek shelter, leave the area when conditions permit, and avoid traveling further to remote points, it said.
